The Colfax High tennis team turned back Lincoln, 6-3, Tuesday afternoon to cinch a CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Div. III playoff berth.
The Falcons ended the PVL season with a record of 7-3 and tied with Center for second place in the league standings. The Falcons will play at Center today in a playoff match to determine the PVL’s No. 2 and 3 seeds for the upcoming CIF team tournament.
Colfax, which defeated Bear River, 6-3 Monday afternoon, was paced Tuesday by Kyle Detwiler who defeated Lincoln’s Blake Waidman, 6-3, 6-1, in boys No. 2 singles and Justine Hanson who turned back Loreena Sims, 6-3, 6-3 in the girls No. 1 singles spot.
In boys No. 2 doubles, Colfax’s Taylor Dorsey and John Crane capped a perfect PVL regular season by downing Alec Snodgrass and Tanner Aspley, 6-1, 6-2.
Colfax will also compete in the PVL doubles and singles tournament this Thursday and Friday at Auburn Racquet Club.
