Colfax woman out of hospital after run-in with deer, car crash

A Colfax woman injured Monday after swerving on Interstate 80 to avoid a deer was discharged from hospital, a Sutter Health spokesman said Thursday. Robyn Berkler, 42, was taken by ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center with major injuries after her car was broadsided by a truck after hitting the center median, a California Highway Patrol spokesman reported. She was listed in critical condition Tuesday and discharged Wednesday. The woman had swerved and avoided hitting the deer but spun out and hit the center divide, just east of the Weimar overcrossing.
