Community Thanks: Meadow Vista gives big during drive

-A +A
Thank you Meadow Vista area residents, business and organizations for your support of The Meadow Vista Friendly Neighbors Club Christmas Baskets Program! What an awesome job done by the residents, business and organizations of Meadow Vista and surrounding communities on ensuring their neighbors in need were supplied with food and toys through the Christmas Basket Program. Thank you Sierra Hills and Weimar Hills schools for an outstanding job on supplying canned food through your annual Canned Food Drive. Placer Food Bank supplied us with “Food for Families” Brown Bag, and “Food for Families” for the side dish items for Christmas dinner. Plus the barrel located at Café Vista was filled to the top, which was a nice surprise since they had the barrel for less than a week. The Meadow Vista Friendly Neighbors wants to thank all of the residents that purchased toys for the Community Christmas Tree located at Wells Fargo Bank and Meadow Vista Curves. You supplied fantastic toys for 57 families. Then, the Winchester Ladies Golf Club as they have done for past seven years, provided toys and clothing for many families. Our hats are off to these ladies since they went the extra mile this year by doubling the families they helped from prior years and then did extra gift giving to seniors too! On Friday night (December 19, 2008) at Sierra Hills School auditorium, it was a fabulous vision of what Christmas is all about, to see so many area residents caring about their neighbor to come to help assemble the food baskets (boxes) for 98 families. We finished this task earlier than in any year with all the help. What an excellent job this team of residents did! On Saturday distributing these baskets was possible due to the Meadow Vista Area Lions Club. They loaded these boxes into cars after the day before of doing all the heavy lifting and transporting the food to Sierra Hills School. Without this organization the physical labor would not have been done! The club wants to thank Meadow Vista area Lions for their hard work and monetary support to this program. Thank you for the financial support goes to Wells Fargo Bank, Meadow Vista True Value Hardware, Celebrations Community Fellowship, Placer Hills Methodist Women’s AGAPE Fellowship, Sierra Reach Ministries, Placer County Association of Realtors, Auburn Rotary, Meadow Vista Area Lions, and Meadow Vista Grange. The club wants to thank all those community residents that contributed financially to the Christmas Basket Program. The Meadow Vista Friendly Neighbors Club feels very fortune to have so many caring residents that stepped up their financial support this year with such a downward spiral in the economy. The Meadow Vista Friendly Neighbors Clubs says thank you to our community for making children smile on Christmas through all their donations of labor work, presents and food for the family.
