Consider a six-year term

I was thinking about our current four-year term for the office of the president. It seems it takes around 18 months to get his/her feet wet and learn the ropes. Then the last 18 months he/she seem to focus on re-election, thus resulting in a 12 month active and productive president during the first term. Maybe go to a six-year, one term limit and get someone who can focus on his/her job the remaining five years they are in office? Just a thought. Verne Disney, Applegate
