Control dogs even in park

I think Victoria Curtis needs to watch “The Dog Whisperer” on the Discovery channel (Journal, July 19). Dogs don’t like or dislike leashes. Dogs are pack animals and when you take the leash it indicates to the dog that you are the pack leader. If you allow the dog to strain at the leash and bark at other dogs it becomes the leader. This indicates aggression and lack of control by the owner. That is exactly the kind of dog you don’t want in a dog park. Roger Perkins, Auburn
