Of course trains make noise

Re: “Train noise raising steam,” (Journal, May 30). The trains have been coming through Auburn and Placer County since long before any of us moved here. It’s very selfish to expect the railroad to make concessions, and it’s naive to think that train traffic wouldn’t increase over time — just like freeway traffic. Anyone living near the train tracks should have anticipated more noise, move if they don’t like the noise and stop complaining in the meantime. Linda Goebel, Colfax
