Crews battle 8-acre blaze

Crews remained overnight at the site of a vegetation fire that charred an estimated 8 acres and damaged one building Saturday. The fire was reported at about 5:10 p.m. in the area of Ruck-a-Chucky and Drivers Flat Road in the Auburn State Recreation Area. A State Parks building was the only reported structure involved, according to a Cal Fire Grass Valley Command Center spokesman. Cal Fire, Foresthill, Tahoe National Forest and El Dorado National Forest fire crews responded to the fire with 14 engines, two air tankers, a helicopter and a dozer. Cause of the fire has not yet been determined, according to Cal fire. Staff report
