Oct. 5: Three teenagers reported thefts from their backpacks at Foresthill High School. A football player reported that his iPod was removed from his jeans that he left on the locker room floor during football practice. A female reported that she left her backpack in a hallway outside of her classroom and when she returned her cell phone had been removed. A second teen reported that her iPod Nano was removed from her unattended backpack left in a hallway. Oct. 15: An unknown suspect gained access to a 60-year-old Auburn woman' bank account and took an undisclosed amount of money. Oct. 18: An unknown suspect entered an Auburn man's locked trailer on his property in Iowa Hill and took about $5,234 worth of tools. Oct. 24: Derrick R. Brister, 27, of Auburn was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, transportation of a controlled substance for sale and a parole violation. Deputies reported recognizing Brister as a parolee as he pulled out of a gas station on Penryn Road near Interstate 80. The suspect's vehicle was searched following a traffic stop. Deputies reported finding a white, powdery substance and a green, leafy substance in Brister's possession. (The above information was taken from area law enforcement and fire district logs.)
