Cruise Nite returns Friday evening, when 300 cars from 1972 or older will be on display along Lincoln Way in Downtown Auburn.
This is the 28th season of Cruise Nite, and the fourth event so far in 2012. The free event runs from 5-9 p.m. The cars are in all stages of restoration, and the only stipulation is that no motorcycles are allowed. People have brought cars, trucks and even vintage fire engines to the show, although organizers request they be informed ahead of time if a vehicle will require more than one parking space.
Cruise Nite features food, beer and wine for sale, along with other vendors. The event does raise some funds through vendor fees, so at the end of the season a donation is made to the Downtown Business Association.
The final Cruise Nite will take place Sept. 14 and will feature the annual 9/11 tribute.
