I wish to thank the City of Auburn for coming out and participating in our annual 9/11 tribute during the last Cruise Nite. Thanks, too, to Parmys Weinberg who did an outstanding job on the keyboard and Chuck Bacon who engineered our sound board. Among the speakers were Placer County Chaplain Jay McCarl, the Sheriff’s Color Guard, Fire Capt. Tom Carlisle, Sgt. Mike Garlock from Auburn Police, Supervisor Jim Holmes and Auburn Councilman Mike Holmes who explained that we now have a piece of steel from the Twin Towers which is being prepared for display in City Hall. There were informed “First Responders” on the dais with us. Our connecting with the Sacramento Freelancers was the wow factor of the evening. Thanks for outstanding music. They had just returned from New York in a competition for small group corps. Delightful. Thank you all for your service and also the various branches of the military who were in the audience. Thanks, too, to the crew of the Cruise Nite committee who so ably helped us load and unload sound equipment in addition to parking the extra vehicles. Thank a vet for our freedom.
