Jeff Tooker, a Del Oro High School assistant principal, has accepted the position of Assistant Superintendent for Educational Services for the Placer Union High School District, according to an e-mail sent to Del Oro staff by the district. “We are looking forward to having Jeff join our district office staff and the District Administrative Team,” the e-mail stated. Tooker will fill the position vacated by the new district superintendent, Dave Horsey, who replaces retiring superintendent Bart O’Brien. The changes are effective July 1. “It’s sad for Del Oro, but good for the district,” Del Oro Principal Bob Christiansen said of Tooker’s new position. “He’ll do a great job and will be able to affect more things,” he added. Tooker graduated from Del Oro, and played football and was coached by Christiansen. He was a teacher at Del Oro before becoming an assistant principal. Joyia Emard, Gold Country News Service
