The Del Oro High tennis team had little trouble in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II quarterfinals Wednesday in Woodland, handing Pioneer an 8-1 defeat. The Golden Eagles moved within one win of a second straight trip to the section finals. No. 1 singles play er Kelsey Becker cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win. Bryn Bacharach had no problems in a 6-1, 6-0 victory while Erin Becker was a 6-0, 6-1 winner. Alyssa Lewis rallied for a 6-7, 7-5, 10-8 win at No. 4 singles. Aubrey Nelson rolled to a 6-3, 6-3 victory. In doubles play, Molly Watson and Danielle Walker posted a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1. Lauren Huppe and Mackenzie Landry picked up a 6-2, 6-0 win while Kim Hibbert and Jessica Barber teamed up for a 6-3, 6-2 win. Del Oro will travel to Sacramento for a semifinal match against Rio Americano on Monday at 2 p.m. Kelsey Becker will play for the Sac-Joaquin Section singles title today at Johnson Ranch. Bryn Bacharach and Erin Becker will compete in the doubles tournament.
