Bryn Bacharach rallied to defeat Jaimie Miller 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles and the Del Oro High girls tennis team beat Nevada Union 6-3 in Sierra Foothill League action Tuesday afternoon. Hailey Shaban swept Madi Messer 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2, Aubrey Nelson held off Erika Kidera 6-7, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 and Danielle Walker downed Haley Zucca 7-5, 6-3 at No. 6. Kim Hibbert and Marina Hansen teamed up for a 7-5, 6-3 win over Matisse Geenty and O’Hara Cooper at No. 1 doubles and Emily Sizemore and Baylee Moranville dispatched Heather Foote and Jorden Riley 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3. “It definitely was a team effort,” said Del Oro coach Jill Tooker. “Bryn has been struggling lately but she came back in the last two sets and played really smart tennis. So did Aubrey. She wasn’t very focused and lost the first set but started using a ton of different strategies to win.” The Golden Eagles improved to 4-3 overall and 3-1 in the SFL. They travel to take on Rocklin Thursday afternoon.
