Steve Cook, the varsity soccer coach at Placer High School, is a sales representative/consultant for the Guardian and can provide discounts on the soft-shell caps.

Cook’s discounts can applied to individual orders or team discounts for orders of 20 or more.

Cook got involved in selling the Guardian as a grassroots effort to fight against concussions.

“It may not look pretty,” Cook said of the Guardian, “but it helps ensure with the latest football practice gear that we are doing everything we can to protect our players.”

Over the summer, the Oakmont High School football team purchased 75 Guardian caps to help protect players.

Though the National Federation of State High School Associations recently said wearing a Guardian is not illegal under its football rules, it doesn’t appear as if any Sac-Joaquin Section players have tried wearing one in game situations.

The Guardian ($69.95 plus shipping) can be purchased at Discounts on orders can be received by using Cook’s name and the promotional code 1059 for individuals or td15 for group orders.
