Don’t support deer kill backers

In regard to the “slaughter the does program,” have any of the bureaucrats from the Placer County Fish & Game, Kirk Uhler and his cohort that brings him his coffee, and some unknown that is the regional director of the California Deer Association, whatever that is, ever heard of a group of coyotes killing a fawn that has lost its mother? There will be a lot of these fawns with white spots wandering onto the county roads and the freeway looking for their mothers, that they won’t find. On Aug. 7 I watched a doe and her two white spotted fawns that were about a week old walk by our property, and I was thinking how vulnerable they were. If the fawns were 20 or 30 feet from their mother, behind a small bush lying down, and a 12-year-old child kills the doe, it is a tragedy. The fawns stay with their mother for up to a year for a reason. I moved to Placer County in 1945. I have hunted and fished ever since, and I know what I am talking about. One thing is for sure. Any official who is voted into office will not get my vote if this bloody slaughter is allowed. DON J. GREER, Colfax
