In baseball, three strikes and you’re out; in serious crime, three strikes and you’re out of society.
On Friday, Nov. 6, a three-strike scenario was happening and careless dog owners better take notice.
The Auburn Journal front page carried the decision regarding the recent pitbull attack.
At almost noon the same day I parked in the East Placer Street parking lot in Downtown Auburn and walked to the PG&E to pay a bill.
A large unleashed dog chased after me and growled. Some folks sitting on the corner benches yelled at the dog and it backed off.
At the same moment, two loose pitbull dogs attacked a man working in his yard in Sacramento.
After a chase by police, the two pitbull dogs were shot and killed.
Little did I know I could be personally involved in a potential same-day attack. Auburn Police were quick to arrive at the corner of East Placer Street.
There are careless and irresponsible pet owners, just as there are dangerous drivers.
It is sad for dogs and dog lovers that a few can spoil it for the many.
Personally, I would love to see the parking lot at East Placer Street expanded and be rid of the corner nuisance.
