Forest Lake hands Victory its first CVCL defeat

The Forest Lake Christian boys basketball team handed Victory Christian its first loss in Central Valley Christian League play Tuesday, dropping the Vikings 50-47 at Lake of the Pines.
The Falcons’ defense held Victory to just seven first-half points before the visitors stormed back. The Vikings hit six 3-pointers in the fourth quarter, but the Falcons held on to improve to 5-3 in the CVCL.
Balance was the story for the Forest Lake offense. Junior Nathan Burnett led the way with 11 points. Randy Van Winkle scored nine and Taylor Phillips added eight.
The Vikings played without their leading scorer, who missed the game with a concussion.
Auburn Christian 64, New Life Christian 45 at Meadow Vista — The Saints jumped into second place in the Northern Pacific League with a big home win.
Junior Robert Bristol poured in 24 points and dished out eight assists. Noah DuNann scored 18 while Jake Sween added 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Auburn Christian (4-2 NPL, 13-5 overall) will face North Hills Christian on Thursday.
