Forest Lake rallies to stay perfect in GEL

The Forest Lake Christian tennis team won a pair of tiebreakers at home Tuesday on its way to a 5-4 win over the defending Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV champion.
At No. 1 girls singles, Caitlin Hanson won a 6-0, 4-6, 6-0 decision over her Lindhurst foe. Ashton Sante had a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 1 boys singles.
Ali Weir and Amanda Timmerman survived their No. 1 doubles match with an 8-6 win in a tiebreaker. Colin Rafter and Nathan Burnett rallied for a 9-7 win in their tiebreaker at No. 1 boys doubles.
Holly McClane and Courtney Turner picked up a big 10-6 win at No. 2 girls doubles to help the cause.
Forest Lake remained unbeaten in the Golden Empire League at 7-0.
Granite Bay 5, Del Oro 4 at Granite Bay — The Eagles lost their first Sierra Foothill League match of the season in heartbreaking fashion. Del Oro lost a third-set thriller in doubles and fell to 5-1 in the SFL.
Bret Bacharach posted a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 1 and Brandon Bailey had a 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 win at No. 4.
Taylor Carrington and Nick Koop teamed up for a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles. Brandt Steinmetz and Paul Villa cruised 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3.
Colfax 8, Lincoln 1 at Colfax — The Falcons kept their playoff hopes intact with a big win at home.
Josh Parker was a 6-0, 6-4 winner at No. 1 boys singles while Justin Witt won 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2. Laura Zajac won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 girls singles.
Eric Graves and Derek Ikeda rallied for a 1-6, 7-6 (10-6) win at No. 2 boys doubles.
