Foresthill creeps closer to playoff berth

The Foresthill High football team crushed Woodland Christian 60-7 Friday night at home, moving closer to the school’s first football playoff berth. Dimitri Vasquez scored on a run, a fumble recovery and an interception return to spark the Wildfires, who improved to 5-3 overall and 2-2 in the Sacramento Metro Athletic League. Colton Rhone had two rushes for 140 yards and two TDs before coach Jim Herlehy sat him down. Alex Harley and Jake Henry added touchdown runs. Jace Peck returned an interception for a touchdown and Travis Marshall added a 65-yard punt return for a touchdown in the win. Foresthill will face Delta on the road next Friday with a chance to clinch a playoff berth with a win.
