The Placer High boys would prefer to forget the 2010 Kendall Arnett Tournament. The Hillmen finished winless in their tournament for the first time since 1991 as they lost to Nevada Union 77-53 Thursday in the seventh-place game.
Seniors Koal Swisley and Josh Turney scored 12 points apiece to lead Placer, which trailed 46-24 at the half. Sophomore Isaiah Pineiro was a bright spot for Placer, scoring 10 points. Junior Cody Riggs added eight.
Collin Lee finished off an impressive tournament for the Miners by scoring 18. Chris Porter also had 18 for Nevada Union.
Del Oro 59, Bear River 38 — Alan Kidwell sparked the balanced Golden Eagles with 13 points in the consolation title game as the Bruins could not keep pace.
Bear River hung tough in the first half, but went cold from the outside as Del Oro’s depth wore down the smaller Bruins. The Eagles had seven different players score in the first half. Taylor Bergthold finished with 12 points and Derek Ainsworth played well with nine.
Bear River senior Trevor McGhee and Del Oro junior Jordan Broyles landed on the all-tournament team.
Del Campo 76, Mira Loma 36 — The Cougars pounded the Matadors to take home the third place trophy.
Chris Burnett and Mason Welch earned all-tournament honors for Del Campo while Mira Loma’s Anthony Rule and Kevin Lee were also all-tournament.

Del Oro topped Bear River to win the Little Kendall Thursday afternoon. In the third place game, Nevada Union beat Placer while Colfax won the seventh-place game.
