Four suspects facing charges in vehicle theft, robbery and attempted robbery incidents
Law enforcement officers have arrested four suspects in connection with a robbery attempt in Kings Beach and an armed robbery and vehicle theft in Incline Village.
According to a Placer County Sheriff’s Office report, the attempted robbery at gunpoint occurred Dec. 29 at the Kings Beach Liquor Store. The armed robbery was Jan. 2 at the Incline Village Chevron station. Shortly after the Chevron robbery, a vehicle was stolen in Incline Village.
The stolen vehicle was involved in an accident in Tahoe Vista on Jan. 5, the report said.
On Jan. 10, officers arrested a 17-year-old juvenile in Tahoe City on vehicle theft charges. A short time later, search warrants were served in California and Nevada, leading to the arrest of Jorge Miranda Rivas, age not provided, and another 17-year-old male from Incline Village, the report said.
On Friday, two more search warrants were served in Kings Beach and the final suspect, Jorge Torres, 18, of Kings Beach, was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft. Torres is also a suspect in the Incline Village robbery, the sheriff’s office said.
The investigation was a joint effort of the Placer and Washoe County Sheriff’s offices and the California Highway Patrol.
“Due to excellent networking between three law enforcement agencies and assistance from the victims of these crimes, there was a quick and successful conclusion to three cases,” Detective Sgt. John Giovannini said in the report.
