A Fourth of July golf mnemonic

To celebrate July 4th, our national birthday, let’s try something a little different, like the following mnemonic device crafted around the phrase Independence Day, July 4th. There are a few tips, some opinions and a modest attempt at humor. I hope you get a bang out of this! I love this game! Never give up. You never know, your next shot might just drop into the hole. Driver. Definitely, the longest club in the bag. Etiquette is an important part of respecting the game of golf. Press! If you’re a betting person you’ll understand. Execute your pre-shot routine before every shot. Noonan…..Do you remember this character from Caddy Shack? Don’t forget to repair your ball marks and fix your divots. Expect some shots to not finish where you think they should. Nine holes on the front or on the back, when you don’t have time for a full 18. Chipping is easier if you setup with the ball off your back foot. Everyone can enjoy some aspect of golf, from playing to watching. It’s exciting! Dad introduced me to this great game. Appreciate your freedoms and those who sacrificed to give them to us. Yell FORE! If you hit an errant shot towards other players. Junior golf programs are great summer activities for kids. Understand the rules of golf; they are there to help, not to hurt. Lakes are pretty to look at but they eat golf balls, so aim away from them. Starting July 1, 2008 the cost to join our ladies league is $70.00 good through Dec. 31, 2008. $40.00 of this gives you membership to the Northern California Golf Association (NCGA).
