Free fun events deserve crowds

A friend and I went to two events last night (Wednesday, June 23), the one from 6 to 9 p.m. on High Street in Downtown and the movie put on in Old Town Auburn from 9 to 11 p.m. They were both great fun! Walking along and seeing all the vendors on High Street and buying this and that was so much fun. The movie, “Protocol,” with Goldie Hawn and the scenes shot in Old Town were just great. But … where were the Auburnites? I expected crowds and although High Street had a little over 100 folks, the movie in Old Town I’d be surprised if there were 100 people. What a poor showing! Where is the spirit? Everyone says there is nothing to do yet these events were free and no one came. The good people that worked so hard to get these all together must have been so disappointed at the turnout. Come on, folks. Come out and support our town. It’s worth it. Sherry Little, Auburn
