Freshman sparks Forest Lake in CVCL finale

The Forest Lake Christian volleyball team got a spark from freshman Morgan Koch to sweep past Sacramento Waldorf 25-10, 25-16, 25-14 in its final Central Valley Christian League game Thursday.
Koch had eight kills, five blocks and four aces to lead the Falcons in just her second start with the varsity team. Molly Huusfeldt had nine assists to go with five kills while Laura Ritchart added 13 digs and three kills.
The Falcons finished 8-2 in the CVCL and 13-10 overall. They will begin the playoffs with a home match Nov. 9.
Del Oro 3, Roseville 1 at Loomis — The Golden Eagles celebrated senior night with a 25-18, 23-25, 25-22, 25-21 win to move to 5-4 in the Sierra Foothill League.
Belle Obert and Aly Duffin combined for 33 kills. Obert added 20 digs, perfect serve-receiving and two aces. Duffin had six digs while Cassandra Palma added five kills and three aces. Bailey Humes served for 20 points, including four aces while dishing out 38 assists.
Del Oro will close out the regular season next Thursday at Woodcreek.
In junior varsity play Roseville beat Del Oro in two games while the Eagle freshmen beat Roseville in three.
