Golden Eagles can’t hang on at Granite Bay

The Del Oro High volleyball team could not hang onto a two-game lead at Granite Bay Tuesday night as the Grizzlies stormed back for a 15-25, 15-25, 25-20, 25-23, 17-15 win in Sierra Foothill League action.
The Golden Eagles fell to 5-3 in the SFL while Granite Bay improved to 7-1.
Tatum Jungsten led Del Oro with 10 kills, nine blocks and a perfect 20-for-20 performance at the service line. Morgan Lees had 12 kills and 10 digs while Amy Heyn passed out 33 assists and added 17 digs. Megan Hentschke added 16 digs and Stephanie Solich had 15 digs. Brianna Ruiz pounded eight kills.
Forest Lake 3, Cristo Rey 0 at Sacramento — The Falcons served up a whopping 30 aces and cruised to a road win.
Morgan Koch led the way with 10 aces, along with seven kills and two blocks. Aly English had seven assists, four kills and four aces and Emily English tossed in four kills.
Forest Lake (7-3 Central Valley Christian League) will host Delta on Thursday.

Colfax 5, Bear River 2
at Lake of the Pines — The Falcons used a second-half rally Tuesday at Bear River to keep its playoff hopes alive.
The Falcons topped the Bruins thanks to three goals from junior Cameron Ford. Ryan Sinclair and Seth Allen added goals for Colfax, which moved to 3-2-4 in the Pioneer Valley League. Colfax will close the regular season at Placer on Thursday.
Ben Rooker had two assists for Colfax and Jimmy Logan added one.
Placer 0, Lincoln 0 at Lincoln — The Hillmen settled for a scoreless tie on the road Tuesday night. Placer (7-1-1 PVL) has already clinched the PVL championship.
Coach Mark Miller credited Ben Delabarra and Gama Gomez for their hard work on offense as the Hillmen posted their eighth shutout in nine PVL games.
In junior varsity play Lincoln topped Placer 1-0 to pull into first place in the league standings.
