Golf roundup: Gregg, Lady Hillmen beat Lincoln to open Pioneer Valley play

Bear River loses rematch to Center

The Placer High School girls golf team got its Pioneer Valley League title defense off to a good start Thursday, beating Lincoln 257-299 at the Ridge.

Hannah Gregg shot a match-best 39 on the nine-hole, par-36 course for the Lady Hillmen (2-4, 1-0 PVL).

Gregg was followed by teammates Madi Holm (43) and Kacey Egusa (49).

Kaitlyn McKinney led Lincoln with a team-best 52.

Placer continues league play Tuesday when it hosts Bear River with a 3 p.m. tee time.

Center 258, Bear River 264 — One day after beating after beating Center 274-277, the Bruins were defeated in a rematch at Lake of the Pines in a PVL match. Jesica Pisenti led Bear River (1-1) with a 49. She was followed by Shelby Lampson(52),  Delaney Kaper (54), Malone Pearson (59) and Olivia Naves (64). The Bruins play Placer Tuesday at the Ridge.
