The fifth annual Holiday Classic football game featuring some of the top seniors from the East Bay versus all-stars from the Sacramento area is set for Sunday at Grant High in Sacramento. Kick off is at 1 pm. Bear River High’s Jason Grady was the lone player from the foothills selected to the Sacramento team. Grady, a 6-5, 255-pound senior, was an all-Pioneer Valley League selection on the offensive line. Both squads are loaded with Division I college recruits. For the first time ever this game will feature not one but three players selected to play in the US Army All American Game. The three players are George Atkinson (son of former Oakland Raiders great George Atkinson) of Granada, Viliami Moala and James Sample, both of Grant. Atkinson has committed with his twin brother Josh to play for Notre Dame next year. Moala and Sample have multiple offers and have not committed. Last year’s game was a defensive battle and ended in a double OT tie. This game should be quite the opposite. The quarterbacks for the East Bay and Sac teams have put up staggering numbers. The East Bay is led by Concord and Southern Mississippi recruit Ricky Lloyd. Lloyd sparked Concord to a section championship while breaking the Northern California passing yards record. He threw for 4,459 yards and 52 TDs. He also ran for 300 yards and nine touch downs. The Sacramento squad will feature Dano Graves, who led Folsom to the CIF State Division II title. Graves has run and thrown for 4,399 yards, accounting for 79 TDs. From these two players alone they have totaled 9,155 yards and 138 TDs this year. Here is a partial list of the Sacramento players that have Division I offers. Dano Graves/Folsom (4 offers), Jimmy Laughrea/Rocklin (committed to Boise State), Quincy Forte/Vacaville (2 offers) Angelo Perry/Fairfield (2 offers), Tyler Trosin/Folsom (committed Oregon State), Kori Babineaux/Folsom (6 offers), Matt Kasner/Granite Bay (3 offers), Nate Falo/Inderkum (2 offers), Puka Lopa/ Grant (multiple offers), Viliami Moala/Grant (multiple offers), Robert Ash/Consumnes Oaks (Committed to Boise State),Burton De Koning/Folsom (5 offers), Artice Nelson/Del Campo (committed UC Davis), Brian Clay/Will C.
