Great to be a public employee

In the article concerning (educators’) retirement income (Journal, Sept. 13), you say that Joy Hauser taught at Skyridge for 16 years and had a total of 25 working years for the school. Many people would like to have a good retirement like that, including me. I worked for the giant credit bureau, Equifax, for over 20 years and my retirement income is $133.20 per month and no medical benefits. Thank goodness for my income from Social Security and Medicare. My son worked for an engineering company in Roseville for 25 years and was laid off over a year ago due to the slowdown in construction. He will receive no retirement or medical benefits.
