Gums’ three homers pace Auburn All-Stars

Shortstop is 4-for-4, drives in seven runs in 10-4 rout of Lincoln

Shortstop Tyler Gums went 4-for-4, crushing three home runs and collecting seven RBIs Monday night as Auburn Little League 11-year-old All-Star team defeated Lincoln 10-4 in a District 11 Tournament game at Rocklin’s Twin Oaks Park. All of Gums’ homers were two-run shots. He also had an RBI single in his second at-bat. Pitcher Logan Markstein also went 4-for-4 with an RBI for Auburn and threw a complete game to earn the victory. First baseman Cole Blackwell and catcher Ryan Gray each went 3-for-3 for Auburn, which will face Tri City at 7 p.m. today at Twin Oaks Park. Outfielder Landon Carp had a single and drove in a run in Monday’s victory.
