Re: “There’s more than meets the eye to Placer chaplain,” (Journal, Wednesday, Nov. 18). In addition to Hawkeye’s mentioned volunteerism in the community, PEACE for Families would like to acknowledge his contribution to our agency. Hawkeye has been one of our most dedicated volunteers for almost 10 years and has calmed the fears and anxieties of multiple families going through crisis. Whether it is sitting in the hospital waiting room with the family of a sexual assault victim at 3 a.m. or accompanying police officers on a domestic violence call, he plays an integral role in supporting our mission of truly bringing peace to families in Placer. Thank you, Hawkeye, for everything you do for PEACE. Laura McNicholas and PEACE for Families staff
