Heed planks, not speeches

-A +A
The handwriting is on the plank. Some of us may be a little gullible but I think most Americans are not stupid. Please, listen to all the speeches coming out of the conventions but if you are swayed by a speech that attempts to define who the speaker is, then shame on me and you. The person moving their mouth is already well defined by history and personality. The stripes do not change. For the most part there is already enough information out there to tell you exactly who that person is and how they will govern. If you really want to get an idea of how a particular party will govern if given the chance, just look at their convention planks. I, for one, do not want to watch their lips move. I want to read what they have decided as a group to run on, items that have an effect on all of us, not just a special narrow band of true believers. Beam me up, Scotty. Hurry. Kent Campbell, Auburn
