Hiker at fault in lion attack

I do think it’s a shame that the 63-year-old hiker was attacked by a mountain lion (“Hiker attacked by mountain lion near Nevada City,” Journal, July 3), but, I must ask why on Earth did he think it was a wise decision to spend the night in an area that is known mountain lion habitat, with no thought that, gee, he just might be exposing himself to a dangerous situation?
This person knowingly put himself at risk and as a result was injured. That is entirely his fault, but, alas, it is the poor mountain lion that must pay for this man’s ignorant decision.
