Hillmen blow past Grizzlies

The Placer High basketball team raced out to a 21-2 lead Tuesday night and defeated Golden Sierra 63-45 in Garden Valley.
Junior Andrew Dahlin scored 13 points. Junior Peter Kean hit three first-quarter 3-pointers and scored 11 of his 12 points in the first. Junior Michael McNamara added nine points as 11 Hillmen scored in the game.
Cisco Lesher led the Grizzlies (3-6) with 11 points. Jason Boyle and Shawn Alexander scored 10 each.
Placer (6-2) will face Truckee on Thursday at 3 p.m. in the first game of the Rail City Classic in Sparks, Nev.

Bear River 70, El Camino 58 at Lake of the Pines — Junior Justin Beskeen poured in 25 points and senior Jonny Cassar added 20 as the Bruins out-gunned the Eagles Tuesday night.
Brandon Wooner scored 11 points and Trevor McGhee chipped in with 10 as Bear River improved to 2-5 on the season.
