The Placer High baseball program will host a youth clinic on Sunday at James Field for players ages 6 to 12.
Participants will receive instruction for Placer coaches and players on pitching, catching, batting and fielding. Each player will receive a Placer baseball cap, hot dog and a soda. There will be prizes awarded.

Colfax track and field team to hold car wash
The Colfax track and field team will hold a car wash fundraiser from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday two locations.
The wash will be held at the Mountain Village parking lot at 333 S. Auburn St. in Colfax and the Placer Hills District Office parking lot at 16801 Placer Hills Rd. in Meadow Vista. The team is asking for a $5 donation per car.
Post 84 baseball tryouts May 12-13
The Post 84 American Legion baseball teams will hold tryouts for players from age 14 to 19 on May 12 and 13 at James Field in Auburn. Tryouts will run from 9 a.m. to noon and players will need to attend at least one day of tryouts to be eligible to play.

ARD bringing back adult volleyball
ARD will host a free introduction to adult intermediate volleyball through June 22 to help promote its Tuesday and Friday morning programs.
Men ages 50 and up and women ages 45 and up are welcome to participate in the free clinic. Adult volleyball meets from 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday and Friday. Teams are formed after a warm-up period and spend the rest of the time playing three-touch volleyball.
Fundraiser golf tourney Saturday at Black Oak
Placer High senior Paige Maberry is hosting a golf tournament on Saturday at Black Oak Golf Course to benefit “Little Wishes.”
The tournament is part of Maberry’s senior project and will begin at 2 p.m. with a shotgun start. Entry fee is $50 per player or $35 for students, and includes green fees, cart, range balls and a Cinco de Mayo dinner after the round. There will also be a raffle and silent auction. Dinner is available for non-golfers for $10.

Auburn Elementary hosting Race for Education
The Auburn Elementary Parent-Teacher Club will hold a 5K fun run on May 20 to support several programs at the school.
The run begins at 9 a.m. and all pre-registered participants will receive a t-shirt. There will also be a free kids run. Medals will be awarded to top finishers in each age division.
