How Auburn can lead the state

Considering the lack of success in Streetscape I (loss of parking, loss of merchants, loss of safe, historic intersection) I think Auburn should voluntarily return any redevelopment monies to the state. We could make up a big check, get an appointment with the governor, call the TV stations and get more publicity than with any sign in town. We could lead the state in “for the common good” feel-good notoriety. Instead of “Endurance Capital” we could be the “Town with a Heart” again. Makes more sense than changing our history to repair the sidewalks. Mary Jo Smith, Auburn
