If you quote history do so accurately

Ms. Angela Collier seems to feel that a nation formed under God means that we are only Christians (Reader Input, June 23). There are myriad religions that believe in God but are not Christian. Additionally, there is no such thing as a “foreign god.” In fact, not all of our founding fathers were Christian or even believers in God. Although Dr. Martin Luther King was indeed a Christian minister, he was assisted in the civil rights movement by Jews, Muslims, Buddhists and other faiths, as well as non-believers. The Underground Railroad that assisted fleeing slaves also consisted of people of many religions. For a self-proclaimed “history buff,” Ms. Collier sure doesn’t have her facts straight.
