Internet affects property values

The Journal said there is a state-standard minimum Internet speed of 60 megabytes per second down and 1.5 up (“Rural residents rally for better Internet access,” Journal, June 22). I have no cable connection here, no DSL. I have to rely on satellite, which runs at 1.5 Mbps down and 0.06 up — nowhere near what Sara (Seyydin) reported.
BTW, there is plenty of connectivity across the freeway in Meadow Vista! Appraisers and real estate agents would agree, I’m sure, the availability of high-speed Internet impedes commerce and affects the value of properties.
