My John Deere riding mower needed the valves adjusted and money is tight. Internet valve lash specs were inconsistent, so I went to a JD dealer. They seemed friendly when I had purchased JD and WC trailer parts from them before so I thought they would help me out. At the service desk, after my explanation, the manager/owner told me, ?There are too many engines and I don?t know the specs so if you want to bring it in or pay my mechanic $85 an hour to research it for you, I can do that.? Another company handles the engine parts. In five minutes they very pleasantly sold me the valve cover gaskets, gave me the specs and without my asking, even printed out the procedure. I was impressed! Ron Rothe, Newcastle
