It's for sure: Snow comes to Old Town for fun tonight
By: Deric Rothe
Children and children-at-heart can go sledding on the street from 5 to 9 p.m. tonight on Lincoln Way in Old Town Auburn. Lincoln Way, between Carpe Vino and Tsuda?s, will be covered in snow, thanks to the efforts of Ty Rowe, owner of Bootlegger?s restaurant and several friends from the Old Town and Downtown business associations and Auburn Chamber of Commerce. Rowe was making plans Wednesday to take his truck and several others - donated by Baldoni Construction, Robinson Sand and Gravel, White Escavating, Livingston Sand and Gravel, and Valley Rock and Supply in Loomis ? up to Foresthill to load up on the white stuff. Old Town Auburn will host A Country Christmas tonight, which features vendors on the streets and shops open to the public in an old-time, festive holiday atmosphere. Rowe said there will be inner-tubes available for kids to slide on and the festivities are free to the public.
