Joy of giving not only for billionaires

A rich man asked Jesus, “How can I get into the kingdom of heaven?” Jesus answered, “Sell all you have and give it to the poor.” The rich man went away sad. Then Jesus said to one of his followers, “It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to get into the kingdom of heaven.” Apparently, Bill Gates and Warren Buffet paid attention in church, as they have now started a donation program for billionaires to pledge to give away half of their wealth to better mankind. Now the 26-year-old founder of Facebook has also agreed to give away half of his wealth (Journal, Dec. 10). We can all join the club when we give our dollars and dimes to the holiday red kettles that benefit the Salvation Army. We can experience the joy of giving, even if we are not billionaires.
