Judge’s ruling way too lenient

The article in the Journal on Jan. 18 about the bar fight in which a young lady lost her ear at the hands of a Ms. Andrea Cordova (I would not dare call Ms. Cordova a “lady”) is my reason for writing today. I cannot understand how the judge presiding over this case (Judge Larry Gaddis) could sentence this multiple-times-violent-offender to only one year in the county jail. This person caused permanent physical damage to the other young lady. At the very least, Ms. Cordova deserves a minimum of five years in state prison. This person is a danger to society and was given a mere slap on the wrist. What type of message does that send to our young people? Shame on Judge Larry Gaddis! Donna McCloskey, Auburn
