This letter is in regard to the Alliance for the Protection of the Auburn Community Environment’s request to have the county reopen the environmental review of the Wal-Mart site (“Wal-Mart says dioxin concern by Auburn group is delay tactic,” Journal, June 14).
APACE is concerned about the dioxin levels at the Wal-Mart site.
I would suggest that Wal-Mart request a reopening of the environmental review of the development next to the Wal-Mart site to determine if dioxin is indeed contaminating their soil, as well.
If dioxin is discovered, then these homes should be demolished and no further development should be permitted there, either. This way the county could have a real nice park on both sites.
