Keep Christmas lights glowing

In response to the article, “Future dim for North Auburn tradition (Journal, Sept. 1), the owner of the bail house, Frank Calabretta, has had a tradition for the past 25 years to put up a fantastic show of beautiful Christmas lights and now there is actually someone trying to ruin the tradition by stealing around 2,000 lights and a baby Jesus clay statue. I think it is just stupid that these criminals would steal lights and possibly ruin a tradition. Every year he has done this and his electrical bill has shot up. Last year even in the horrible economy he still did it and his bill went up an extra $18,000 just to keep the tradition going. I think whoever has done this should just come clean so we can keep this beautiful tradition alive. SAM MARSH, student, Auburn
