KENTFIELD — One bad quarter here Wednesday night doomed the Colfax Lady Falcons' hopes of advancing in the CIF Northern California Div. IV Regional girls basketball tournament.

Trailing No. 7 seed Marin Catholic by a point, 21-20, at halftime, the Lady Falcons suffered through a cold third quarter shooting stretch and never were able to get back on track in suffering a 52-40 decision to the Wildcats.

"We didn't play well but I'm not making excuses," said Colfax coach Dave Campbell. "We had two starters ill but that's part of basketball. We just didn't get it done."

Colfax was outscored 16-8 by the hosts in the pivotal third quarter and then couldn't generate enough firepower in the fourth stanza to make a serious run.

Amber Tobiasz paced Colfax, which finished the season with a record of 20-10, with eight points. Kaila Tremoureux  and Raegan Lillie added seven each and Lindsay Biles scored six.

"We had a great season," Campbell said. "We won a league title and twenty games. It just ended a little too soon."
