Lady Falcons Win Tourney Opener
OROVILLE - Rebounding from their poorest shooting night of the season, the Colfax Lady Falcons' varsity girls basketball team opened play in the Oroville Tournament here Thursday in impressive fashion.
Using a balanced scoring attack as their catalyst, the Lady Falcons improved to 5-1 on the season with a 64-31 romp over Las Plumas.
"We shot a lot better tonight," said Colfax coach Dave Campbell after watching his team held to a season low 27 points in Tuesday's loss at home to Dixon. "It's a lot different when the ball is going through the hoop."
Amber Tobiasz paced Colfax's win with 14 points while Kylie Kirkland sank 12 more. Lindsay Biles added nine for the winners while Raegan Lillie and Kaila Tremoureux added eight points each.
Colfax will play Paradise tonight at 7 p.m. in the semi-final round.
