The Placer High girls exacted some revenge with a hard-fought win over Rocklin Tuesday night at Earl Crabbe Gym.
The Lady Hillmen beat the Thunder 60-58 as senior Becky Feis led a balanced attack with 13 points. Kerry McCullough added 12. Lauren Collins missed a free throw with 3.5 seconds left in the game, but stole the ball away from a Rocklin rebounder to seal the win.
Ari Jensen and Maddi Graham scored eight points apiece as Placer improved to 6-7 on the season.
“Last time we played them they jumped out to a 12-0 lead, so we were playing catch-up the whole time,” Placer coach Tony Camillucci said, referring to Rocklin’s 55-48 win at the Coach “G” Memorial last month. “This time we got off to a better start and we had a 10-point lead at one point. They had to play catch-up.”
McCullough was outstanding against the Thunder’s full-court press and Jensen was also a key with her ball handling.
