Late Model winner burns competition in 75-lap main in Roseville

Ticket prices to drop Saturday as mercury rises

Travis Milburn started on the pole and led all but one of 75 laps to win the Late Model main event Saturday night at All American Speedway.

Milburn was passed by Eric Schmidt on lap 59 but regained the advantage on the next lap around the one-third-mile paved oval and beat points leader Matt Scott to the checkered flag by .434 of a second.

Chris Scribner was the No. 1 qualifier at 13.791 seconds. Scott won the dash.

Erick Ray beat Eric Bocksberger by 2.452 seconds in a 33-lap, 17-car Bomber feature. David Thompson topped qualifying at 15.722. Chris Paulson and Erick Ray won heats, and Bocksberger claimed the dash.

In Street Stock, Kevin Owens moved in front on lap one and beat a field of 16 to the checkered flag in the 35-lap grind.

Mickey Owens placed second. Richard Poppert Jr. was the leading qualifier at 14.991. Kevin Owens and Eric Price won the heats, and Matt Camp took the dash.

BMR’s Hayley is 12th in combo East/West race

Bill McAnally Racing drivers Cameron Hayley and Eric Holmes finished 12th and 18th in the Pork Be Inspired 150 on Friday at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa.

Corey LaJoie led a race-high 134 laps and won the combination NASCAR K&N Pro Series East-West event. Placing second was rookie Kyle Larson, who lives in Elk Grove and races in Pro Series East.

Hayley started 15th. Holmes started 25th and finished a lap down in the 36-car field.

Triple-digit half-price Saturday: With one forecast calling for the temperature to be 107 degrees Saturday, all tickets are half price. Or, go to the Squeeze Inn at 106 N. Sunrise Ave. in Roseville from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, mention All American Speedway, and receive two free tickets. Squeeze Inn will have 500 tickets total to give away. The beer garden will be equipped with misters, and bottled water will be on sale for $1.

Normal ticket prices: $13 for ages 16-59, $7 for seniors 60 and up and juniors 6-15, free for children 5 and under, $35 for a family pass (two adults, three juniors).

When: Saturday, Placer County Fairgrounds, 800 All America City Blvd., Roseville. Grandstands open at 4 p.m. Racing at 6:15 p.m.
