Letter’s error fundamental

Eric Hill’s letter, “US back on track, California not,” (Reader Input, Nov. 4), contains a fundamental error. Mr. Hill, the Republicans do not now control Congress. They do control the U.S. House of Representatives, but not the other legislative body, the U.S. Senate. I recommend that Mr. Hill, and others who think alike, read the U.S. Constitution to get it right. Article I, Section 1, clearly states: “All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and a House of Representatives.” If you, like others, want to “get back to the Constitution,” try reading it as a starter. Then you will know what powers are vested in each body of Congress — they are different. Dan G. Tajbl, Auburn
