Thank you so much for printing the informative article on Lyme disease in Placer County (Journal, Feb. 2). It is critical that people are aware of the abundance of infected ticks right here in our area. You have done a great public service by spreading this information. I’d also like to take this opportunity to get the word out about a Lyme Disease Support Group that meets monthly in Auburn: 7 to 8:30 p.m. every third Tuesday of the month at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1279 High St. Attendance is free, and so is parking (in the back of the church). If you or someone you know has Lyme or any “mystery symptoms” (Lyme disguises itself in many ways and can be very hard to diagnose), please attend our meetings. For more information, please contact: Virginia Ward, virward@sbc or 823-5721. Thank you! Virginia Ward, Auburn
