Re: the article on parking (Journal, April 30). Joseph Tucciarone is trying to use his private lot next to the fairgrounds for parking and make a little profit. Enter Mr. (Greg) Hegwer, Gold Country Fair CEO. He states Joe can’t use his private lot for parking since it’s in violation of city code — that requires paid parking lots to be paved. That being the case, then the fairgrounds can no longer charge for parking since their parking area is not entirely paved. Two-thirds of the parking area is gravel, and the last time I looked, gravel is not pavement. Park free next time. Don Kurtz, Auburn
